Tottori summer 2010 In the summer of 2010, the Water and Light Project, Asami Yoshiga, and former and present artists of Tottori will come together to create a community event combining the unique local culture with contemporary influences. The event will be at the beautiful Ueda Shoji museum located at the base of the majestic Mt Daisen. The event will be influenced by the location of the museum, the beautiful natural surroundings, and the very unique photographic eye of one of Japan's most famous photographers, Ueda Shoji. Shoji san has influenced the way photographers the world over see the placement of humans in the environment. We will use that sensibility in capturing the images to be projected. Combining local music and musicians and working with the acoustics of the museum's outdoor courtyard, we will create a soundscape with the wind and the voices of the people attending the event. With video projectors we will fill the walls with large slow moving images. |
